Adored in Co-Ords

Two-piece sets, separates, co-ords — we all might have different names for this matchy-matchy trend, but we can all agree that this is one of the biggest fads of the season. Although crop tops & high-waisted bottoms have been huge for a while now, matching sets present a fun new twist for the fashion-forward.

It took me months to find the perfect co-ords. Granted I was very picky and knew exactly what I was looking for, but still. Finally one fateful evening I wandered into Francesca’s and our eyes met (me and the two-piece, obvi) — needless to say it was love at first sight. Separates are cool because you have to put zero thought into your outfit, which is v necessary for this lazy gal. Not only can you wear the set together, you can mix and match with high waisted jorts and a cardi for a cHiLL dAy, or sass it up with a leather skater skirt for a night out. Basically, what I’m saying is you can totally justify spending more than a week’s groceries on your matching set since you’ll get so many outfits out of it. Right?

Since separates are such a statement alone, I kept accessories fairly simple. I went with black ankle strap heels, gold-rimmed sunnies, a gold studded bracelet, and some of my fave rings. For a little color, I chose a neon yellow satchel to really pop against the black, white, and gold. As for the pineapple, it was sitting majestically on my kitchen counter before I left for my shoot so I grabbed it for a fun prop on the way out. Pineapples are so hot right now. Also they’re $2.99 at Trader Joe’s.

Recognize the street art? We used a different wall as the backdrop for my CSS x SF shoot a while back, but I couldn’t stay away from this mural. It was just a no-brainer for the background of this look. Shepard Fairey is da bomb.com.
