‘Tis the Season

‘Tis the season for holiday parties – that’s how the saying goes, right? With all the events going on this time of year, it can be difficult to find on-trend outfits that are festive, yet don’t have you channeling your Christmas tree. I always find myself going full Mrs. Claus (always drawn to anything red/green/fully sequined), so for today’s look I went with a more subtle holiday ensemble.

When it comes to shopping for holiday party looks, my favorite local boutiques never let me down. II Brunettes is full of festive and fashionable pieces with a little bit of an edge, which I love. When I walked into the store I was immediately drawn to this For Love & Lemons dress with lace details, and this fur coat from Show Me Your Mumu was kind of made to go with it. Pairing jewel tones like sapphire and emerald feels so luxe and also offers a fab alternative to more traditional holiday looks!

For my accessories, I went with simple black pieces since the rest of the outfit had so much going on. To top it off, since I mentioned I’m always drawn to sequins and sparkles around the holidays (and always), I knew I wanted an eye-catching touch. I opted for shiny gold jewelry with this Jenny Bird chain necklace and a stack of Gorjana rings, which totally gave the same effect.

Last but not least, I swiped on a wine-colored lipstick and a mani to match. This went along with the jewel tones color palette perfectly, and also subtly/sneakily ensured that the outfit had both Christmas colors (hehe I can’t help it).
