Wedding Registry Must-Haves: Fun Edition!

During all the treachery of wedding planning, creating your registry can be such a welcome break. However, it can be a little more difficult if you’ve already been living with your SO, and if you’re lucky enough to have the majority of household necessities. Most in this case would suggest a honeymoon fund to get those expenses taken care of (which is still a great idea, and we did the same thing) – but the women in your life would be remiss if they couldn’t get you tangible gifts for your bridal shower! This is where you actually get to have some FUN in the sometimes painful planning process and go a little crazy picking out extraneous things that you would never buy for yourself. I’m breaking down a handful of those items from our registry and wanted to share with y’all to help out any of you in the same boat!

  • Nutribullet, $80: When Will first asked what we should add to the registry, I immediately blurted out “A NUTRIBULLET!” I love making smoothies, but the idea of taking out my clunky full-size blender is enough to make me Postmates my lunch.
  • Record player, $130: We’ve always wanted a record player, but have never actually pulled the trigger for some reason. This is such a special gift that will last a lifetime, so it’s perfect for that sentimental aunt who wants to get something memorable.
  • Bougie blanket, $180: Another thing to file under “things I would never buy for myself” – the infamous Barefoot Dreams blanket. Supposedly it’s life-changing, but I couldn’t ever justify that price. But feeling pampered is the point of a shower, right?? I also love this faux fur one and of course, the chunky knit beauty we’ve seen all over Pinterest for the last decade.
  • Marble wine cooler, $30: My sister got this from her registry and uses it as a utensil holder in the kitchen – aka it’s like SO versatile, ya know? At least that’s how I advertised it to Will, who wasn’t crazy about yet another marble item in our apartment 🙂
  • Olivia Pope glasses, $14 each: Okay ladies, now’s our chance. We’ve been lusting after Olivia Pope’s long stem red wine glasses for years, and it’s finally time to treat ourselves. Popcorn not included.
  • Picnic basket set, $200: What better way to convince your future husband to go on cute picnics with you than to be able to say “but your grandma would be so happy to see us putting our set to good use!”
  • Accent mirror, $60: Just because we have the necessities for our apartment doesn’t mean we can’t jazz it up a bit. I love this mirror in an entryway, a big gallery wall, or as a bedroom vanity.
  • Cheese board, $24: When we started our registry, we went back and saw that we had blacked out and added FOUR cheese boards. If that doesn’t sum us up as a couple, I don’t know what does. Will made me narrow it down to just one (hello divorce bells), but I would have preferred at least three. They’re not just used for cheese, after all – appetizers, flatbreads, canapés… I could (and will probably) go on and on.
  • Roomba, $280: TBH we actually got this for Christmas, but if we hadn’t, we always planned on putting it on our registry. Especially if you have pets, this thing is a gamechanger.
  • Throw pillows, $78-$128: We all know we’re never going to just ball out at Anthro, so now’s the time to put that wish list into action. I’ve always drooled over their home section, so one of the things I was most excited to add to the reg was a few sexy lil throw pillows.
  • Dog bed, $100-200: Your dog has been considered an illegitimate child for how long now, and you expect him to get nothing out of this?! I don’t think so! Give your pup a luxurious bed fit for a king (or princess, in Louie’s case lol) to celebrate finally not living in sin.

Fellow brides, what are the most fun things on your registries? If you guys liked this post, do we also want a registry basics post? Let me know below!

*For any of my friends/family invited to the shower, we will absolutely love anything purchased! This is not a hint at things I want the most, hahaha. Everything on the registry is something we really want and/or need, and these are just examples of fun and extraneous things for people to add to their list 😉
